Soap Soup Tycoon

Cozy on the outside.
Something's wrong underneath.

Grandma left you her restaurant and one recipe.
Nobody will tell you what was in it.

The shop

Grandma's place is yours now

An empty room, a leaky roof and €10,000 in the drawer. The town still remembers her soup. It would be a shame to let them down.

Cook

Fifty-odd dishes, your own prices, your own creations. Pick a signature dish and keep an eye on the market. Tomatoes won't stay cheap forever.

Build

Walls, floors, lamps, plants, a beer garden. Guests notice what they can see from their seat. A window table works wonders. A view of the toilet door doesn't.

Run it

Wages, margins, loans and a credit score that actually matters. It looks cozy, but the numbers underneath are real. And if things go wrong, you can always cook your way back.

Your crew

Everyone has a name, a mood and a life outside the kitchen. People fall in love, fall out, and sometimes call in sick at very convenient moments.

Regulars

They come back for their favourite dish and they notice when you change it. A few of them knew Grandma. They don't talk about her much.

Chapters

Every so often, after closing time, the story moves on. Hand-painted chapters, told a piece at a time. Pay attention to the small things.

Grandma's pot. Still warm.

Don't look too long.

The soup remembers.

It's a cozy game. Mostly.

A sealed envelope with a dark red wax seal on an old wooden table
  1. Business is good. Better than it should be.
  2. The regulars say they knew her. They smile when they say it.
  3. Every recipe in the book works. Except one.
  4. Nobody in town will tell you what was in it.
Prologue Chapter I IIIIIIV?
Stairs leading down into a dim cellar, a faint light behind the door

My dear,

the shop is yours now. The roof leaks above table four, the regulars pay late but they always pay, and Herr Brunnert brings the good carrots on Tuesdays.

Just one thing.
The pot must never go fully cold.
Feed it every night …

Love,
Grandma

The pot is on. Pull up a chair.
